Sunway University is a prestigious private university located in Petaling Jaya, near Kuala Lumpur. Levels of training:
  • Undergraduate : Requires completed 12 years of education (e.g. A-Level, IB, STPM, UEC), CGPA of 2.0.
  • Master’s degree : Bachelor’s degree and proof of English proficiency.
  • The language of instruction is English (IELTS 6.0+ or ​​TOEFL 80+ required ).
International cooperation
Sunway is actively developing international academic ties:

Campus and infrastructure
The university campus occupies 22 acres and was built in 1992. It is a modern space with administrative and academic buildings, laboratories, dormitories, sports facilities and recreation areas. Wi-Fi is available throughout. The campus has:

  • tennis courts, martial arts and athletics grounds;

Accommodation and meals
Cost of living in Petaling Jaya:
  • On campus : RM 440 – RM 1,650 / month.
  • Off-campus : RM 650 – RM 1,549 / month.
  • Food and personal expenses : RM 800–1,200/month.
  • Total expenses : RM1,800–2,900 per month (~400–650 USD)
Additional fees:
  • Registration fee: RM 700 (~$150);
  • Visa fee: RM 2,400 (for Indonesia – RM 3,400);
  • Accommodation deposit: RM 1,500;
  • Housing registration: RM 300.
Start dates of training
  • Bachelor’s degree : January, March, August
  • Master’s degree : March, August
  • It is recommended to submit documents at least 8 weeks before the start of training.
Tuition fees
  • Bachelor’s degree : RM 30,000 – 38,000 per year (~6,800 – 8,300 USD)
  • Master’s degree (including online) : RM36,000 – 47,000 per course (~USD 7,700–10,000)
Scholarships
Through the Geoffrey Chia Foundation , the university provides large sums of scholarships every year. More than RM745 million has already been invested to support thousands of students. International students can apply for partial or full tuition fees based on their academic and personal achievements.
